Overview
John Anders advises K-12 school districts on all aspects of education law. He has represented boards of education and their administrations in administrative hearings and formal mediations, developing negotiation strategies to resolve cases before they escalate and ensuring the coordination and implementation of agreements. His practice includes counseling administrators and school staff on policies, procedures, and special education rules and regulations, as well as supporting Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams to ensure compliance with local and state mandates. John also has extensive litigation experience, having represented educational institutions, government entities, financial institutions, and small businesses in both state and federal courts.
With a background as a licensed educator in Illinois, John leverages eight years of middle and high school classroom experience to provide clients with practical, student-centered solutions. John is also active in presenting legal updates and guidance to school administrators and board members across Illinois, keeping them informed of the latest developments in education law. John is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, where he chairs the Young Lawyers Section’s Education Law Committee.
